Analysis Board
This assessment is designed to introduce building materials that are commonly used in local construction industry. To study and understand the reason behind choices made by the certain designer in terms of concept, functional use, environmental response, envrironmental profile, structural requirements, availability of resources when selecting a buildign material.

This assignments widen my awareness towards usage of material in local construction industry. The place we went was located in the heart of city, Tours Les Jours, a korean bakery shop inspired from France. The deisgn of the bakery shop brought a feeling of old castle feel but was added in some modernization. All the feeling was created by the choosing of materials.Glass and bricks are widely used in this building. The combination of both materials create a traditional feeling but not lacking of modern. The ambience in the building was calm , relaxing and warm. Large apply of wood as its built- in furniture and staircase plays the role of creating the home feel ambience. Besides, we realized that some materials which are chosen for a reason. For exmaple, bricks are chosen as the most portio of the buildign as the building is locate in the city which full of noise and heat, bricks play its part as a good insulator of heat and sound.
Visiting the place in group is really very adventurous. Being together in a strange place and having fun together suddenly remembering me the importance of friendship. We laughed and ate together that evening, joking around and workng hard around. However, before the site visit, choosing a date to go together is really very frustrating as non of us have a common free time. However, we managed to been through that, and did a really good teamwork. Thank you so much to my groupmates!
Individual Board
Abut the individual board, we were supposed to analysis a old town house which located at anywhere. I chose a town house near my house. It was built in 1950, a very old but well maintained townhouse. It is still running the tailor's business where half of the buildng was used as residential area. Compare to the previous chosen building , this building materials are more common and less interesting. We mainly investigated the feeling created by each of the place in the town house. (How the material affect the feeling)
